Eff Yeah Nerdfighter Like

Hi!

Erm, so, I’m particularly awful at talking about myself, because I never know when to shut up. Actually, I’m particularly awful at talking about ANYTHING, because I never know when to shut up.

My name is Kelsey, I’m 20 years old and I’m senior English major. I never really know where to say I’m from: when I’m at school, I live in Irvine, CA; when I’m at my mom’s place, I live in Canyon Country, CA; when I’m at my dad’s place, I live in Los Angeles, CA. (I’ve never met a famous person- sorry!)

I like music. Basically in general. If it has lyrics, they have to be good and the singer has to have a good voice. I’m very picky about that. I sing and play the keyboards and guitar, but I’m too shy to ever perform in front of others. I’m generally a pretty shy person when I first meet someone, but after a while I get more outgoing. 

I love to read. I’ll read anything- good novels, bad novels, the back of the cereal box, the label on the shampoo bottle, the ads I get in my mailbox, good fanfiction, bad fanfiction (it bothers me that my browser doesn’t recognize the word “fanfiction”), etc. 

I also like being smart. I like learning stuff, even if the only time it’ll ever be useful to me is if I somehow manage to get my way onto a game show. I just like to know things and I like other people who know things, especially when we know different things, because then we can teach each other.

Hiya, I’m Amanda. I am a nerdfighter. 

I haven’t been a nerdfighter for long, but as soon as I was in I was in for life. I am an English major with a strong love for art and poetry. I adore writing and reading and performing poetry. I am currently working on 500 poems in a year. I am just over the 350 mark. I am graduating with a degree in English Education in just a few weeks. 

My favorite movies vary from Catfish to Muppet movies to Bright Star. I spend the majority of my time listening to music, writing, and singing. I am one of those people who seem shy on the first meeting, but then become blatantly outgoing over time. 

But who am I really? I mean these are facts and stats about me, but what kind of person am I? I am the kind of person who stares at the moon. I am the person who practices slam poetry in the shower. I am the person who takes long walks in the middle of the night. I am the person who leaves her window open in the middle of an Idaho winter just to feel the coldness. I am the person who laughs loud. I am the person who doesn’t smile often but is one of the  most optimistic people you will ever meet. I am the person who just wants to feel the strands of life between her fingertips and weave them together into a tapestry she can lay on the floor and trace her fingers along showing her children the path she took. I am the person who never gives up. Never gives up on life. Never gives up on happiness. Never gives up on the idea of the great beyond.

I dunno what to say.
I really like movies (a lot) and cross-stitching. Those are my two favorite things.
Currently I’m eating peppermint Hershey Kisses and admiring Edgar Allan Poe. I dig all things goth, arty, dead, sketched, filmed, animated, sewn, and modified.
I’m graysexual/panromantic but less than or equally attracted to fancy cars (though I know nothing about them.) I like cats and sour cream. I hate shaving.

Well, hello there good sirs

I’m Graziella. Eighteen years old, and I still haven’t a clue what to do with myself. I often appear to be extremely social, but I’m horrifyingly shy. I have a lot of friends that I never talk to, because I would rather sit at home on Tumblr, drinking tea, and reading Batman comics.
I’ve always been a nerd. I was able to read before I finished my first year of pre school. I taught myself since I was bored at home, but also because I needed somewhere to escape to. I love science fiction, fantasy, and horror. 
Cinema and Comics are the only two things that rival books in my heart. I’ve always wanted to say that I would give up all the books in the world for someone, but unfortunately I can’t seem to find that person.  
I look rough on the outside according to most of the western world. I have a mohawk that’s always changing colors,  a leather jacket that I don’t leave the house without, and my makeup is always verging on full zombie effects. I guess the outside is different from who I am inside though. I’m quiet until I know you. I’m a nihilist, so that’s always an indicator of pessimism. I can’t say that I’m always sunshine and rainbows, but I can say that I am one of the few people I know who cares. 
Right now, I just want to find the one. I guess it’s corny, but I always have to see my friends with their girlfriends or boyfriends cuddling and laughing, and there I am drinking tea and cracking jokes about how weird they are for pairing off this early.

Why hello there

I’m Ellie. I live in Kansas City and I’m 16.

I have a deep passion for Harry Potter, some would say borderline unhealthy. I know a bunch of useless trivia and I’m a die-hard Ravenclaw. 

I also enjoyed reading Percy Jackson because I love Greek mythology. 

My taste in music is all over the place, though I mostly enjoy pop-rock and showtunes.

My name is Kelsey and I’m 20 years old and I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

When I was reading these, I sort of wished that people used more lists to simplify the browsing process. So that is how I’m going to design mine.

Bio

-          3^rd year accounting & finance major @ University of Manitoba (it’s not as boring as you think)

-          Currently working as an accountant for the summer

-          Math or English? Math.

-         Firefly character you are most similar to? Simon.

-          I’m not a gamer, (unless you count Super Mario) but I hope to start soon. I like watching people game, though.

-          I mostly keep to myself, and I don’t have a wide range of friends. But apparently once you get to know me, I have a surprising lack of reserve.

- Does someone’s sexual preference go in the bio? Assuming it does, I’m straight.

- I don’t smoke, drink or do drugs. I think that nerdfighters are at their peak of awesomeness when they’re free of intoxication and substance use.

Movies & T.V

-          Anything that came from the genius mind of Joss Whedon. Most of all Firefly.

-          Big Bang Theory, Fringe, How I met your Mother, Heroes, Who’s line is it anyway, Late, Late show with Craig Ferguson, and more recently Heroes and Rookie Blue.

-          Lord of the Rings, To have and Have Not, Casablanca, My Fair Lady, Sabrina (both versions, for different reasons), X-men, Star Wars, and basically anything with the premise of beings that have superpowers. Negating tw*l*ght.

-          I’m also a starkid. Not a Gleek. And tw*l*ght can burn in hell.        

Books

-          Harry Potter (as if I actually have to list it. We’re all HP fans here)

-          Books by the wonderfully articulate John Green

-          Brave New World, and other dystopian fiction that I can’t recall the titles of at this moment

-          There are way more, but I can’t think of them right now to list them. (I tend to sway towards fantasy/fiction novels mostly, but I’ve been known to enjoy the classics just as often)

Music

-          I don’t really have any particularly favourite genres; I usually just have favourite songs and artists.

-          And now for a contradiction of the statement above, I do have quite a liking for movie score music.  

-          The one genre that I have tried and failed to understand is rap. To be honest, it kind of irritates me.

Other Interests

• Watching YouTube and Netflix videos far too much for my own good.

• Thinking about getting in shape and never actually committing to my plans for more than 2- 3 days at a time

• I’m also a bit of an ecogeek with a green thumb.

To be honest, I originally started this post in order to meet a nerdfighting, browncoat-wearing guy to fall in nerdfighterlike with, but now I guess I’m also looking for any nerdfighters to meet and talk to.

I would like to meet Canadian nerdfighters who are somewhat near me IRL but I know that’s a hope that probably won’t be satisfied. So I suppose regardless of where you live, I’m interested in making awesome friendships or possibly something more with you. Hi, I’m Casey. I’m a 19-year old nerdfighter from New Jersey. I am very into reading and old movies. I love old radio shows and detective stories, also I find Abbott and Costello funnier than most of today’s comedians. Music-wise I like Emmy the Great, Ministry of Magic, Chameleon Circuit, Alex Day, Tom Milsom, Charlie McDonnell, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, the Four Seasons, the beatles, and well actually if I took time to list all the bands I like we’d be here forever.

I also enjoy playing video games despite not being very good at them, watching Doctor Who and Firefly, dressing up in my Ravenclaw robes to go to Harry potter events, and going to the playground to swing despite being “too old”. I’m pretty outgoing but not very good at doing this whole “introduce yourself” thing. so yeah. Friends welcome!
